29.08.2019.

Bosna Bank International (BBI) has organized an educational workshop at Homework Hub to promote the IsDB Transformers Roadshow competition in science, technology and innovation. Workshop participants had the opportunity to receive information about the competition, education on how to fill out the application, and what criteria an international jury will consider when evaluating.

Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), one of the largest multilateral financial institutions in the world, a major shareholder of BBI Bank, launched Transformers Roadshow as a platform to support innovators and entrepreneurs around the world under the $ 500 million Innovation and Technology Fund.

"We are happy to have this Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) competition coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The competition is open to innovators, scientists, students, professors, entrepreneurs with their ideas, which should support one of the UN's sustainable goals,” said Dino Selimović, BBI Bank's director of marketing and communications.

The best ideas will be presented on September 28, 2019 at Dom Mladih in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the third day of the Sarajevo Halal Fair (SHF) 2019. Three winners will be awarded with $ 3,000 and a trip to Senegal in December.

“I have a project idea with which I want to raise awareness with elementary school pupils about their country and about sustainable development, how to behave ecologically, because by affecting children we also affect their parents and adults. This workshop is interesting and I think there should be more because there are many young people with innovative ideas in Bosnia and they should be given space to develop them,” said Gabrijela Rezić from Mostar, holding a master degree in sustainable tourism development, participant of the workshop and applicant for the competition.

Muamer Pekmez, a student at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science in Sarajevo and a winner of the Silver Badge of the University of Sarajevo, is also planning to apply with the idea of using waste of animal origin for energy production purposes.

"I believe in my idea and believe it has potential to be used around the world. Today's workshop was a great opportunity to meet other people and share knowledge and experience with them. The biggest importance of this workshop is that we learn from other people and we get the opportunity to test our idea", said Pekmez.

The deadline for IsDB Transformers Roadshow 2019 Bosnia applications is September 10, 2019. Interested parties can find more information on how to submit an idea, innovation or project at www.bbi.ba  and www.isdb-engage.org.
