Preparations for the 4th SBF: BBI Bank and BBI VIP Business Club visited Malaysia |
Dr. Mahathir and Bukvić: SBF as platform for the development of South-Eastern Europe

As a part of the preparation for the 4th International Investment Conference Sarajevo Business Forum 2013, Amer Bukvić, CEO of BBI, and BBI VIP Business Club members, Eldin Hadžiselimović, Head of Sales and Board Member at ASA Holding, and Mirsad Ćatić, Director and Chairman of the Board of "SecuritasBH" company, paid a working visit to Malaysia.
During their stay in this country, CEO of BBI and VIP Business Club delegation met with Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia in order to arrange the details of the upcoming visit and participation on Sarajevo Business Forum, which will be held on 17th May in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting of BiH businessmen with Dr. Mahathir was also attended by the Ambassador of BiH in Kuala Lumpur, Tarik Bukvić.
Economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was the topic of the meeting. Dr. Mahathir was interested in ways to deepen the cooperation of BiH and Malaysia, and announced the arrival of the delegation of Malaysian businessmen and representatives of "Khazanah Nasional" Fund. BiH Delegation also met with the leaders of this fund. "Khazanah Nasional" is one of the most important investment holdings in Asia and a leading investor in the fields of agriculture, finance industry, telecommunication, transport, healthcare industry, infrastructure, construction, media, real-estate, biotechnology and utility services.
"Although investments are not the focus of this year's Sarajevo Business Forum and there will be no project presentations, Malaysian investors plan to visit BiH and find sectors with which they will establish cooperation in the future. The intention of BBI Bank and BBI VIP Business Club, which organizes businessmen meetings throughout the year, and the main goal of the 4th Sarajevo Business Forum is to, through a discussion of Dr. Mahathir, Ali Babacan and Danilo Turk based on the growth model of Malaysia and Turkey and the transition experiences of Slovenia, establish a platform for the development of BiH and South-East Europe, as well as to position Sarajevo as a regional economic centre with a favourable climate for successful investors from around the world.", said Amer Bukvić, CEO of BBI. |

‘BH ATM SHARING NETWORK’ OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED

Yesterday, ‘BH ATM Sharing Network’ was officially announced at the press conference with general directors of four participating banks having a press conference in Sarajevo. ‘Bosna Bank International’, ‘Union banka’, ‘Privredna banka Sarajevo’ and ‘Investiciono-komercijalna banka’, members of the BH Network agreed to share all their ATMs, which comes to total of 70 in 29 cities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina with tendency to expend further.
BH ATM Network is interbank’s agreement by which owners of Visa Electron debit cards from previously mentioned 4 banks can withdraw cash from either of shared 70 ATMs without any extra charges. The expansion of the Network is planned and it will be consisting of more than 100 ATMs in midterm period and will be one of the largest ATM network in Country.

The importance of the Network is observed in increasing customer satisfaction which will result in increase of the number of transactions to one million a year.
‘BH ATM Network stays open for cooperation with other banks with sole purpose to ensure better service quality and lowering of costs for end beneficiary. It is worth mentioning that cash can be withdrawn from Visa Electron debit cards without any charges and ATM machines will feature labels of the Network so clients can recognize where they can get the service’, said Amer Bukvic, CEO of BBI. |

New opportunities for Brčko

BBI bank and BBI VIP Business Club, in cooperation with the Government of Brčko District, The Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Association, held business meetings entitled "New opportunities for business, sustainable return of minorities and finding partners and markets". The meetings, held on 25th April in Brčko, were attended by more than 150 businessmen from Posavina region.
The meetings in Brčko were one in the line of events organised by BBI bank with an aim to expand cooperation between local businessmen, strengthen business connections and improve conditions for a possible growing presence of local businessmen on the markets of Turkey and Saudi Arabia through cooperation with the partners of BBI VIP Business Club, "BIGMEV" and "Mostovi nade" foundations.
Representatives of numerous companies and businessmen from our country and the region gathered on this business meeting and through conversations sought opportunities and ways to develop business cooperation, with the aim of establishing major business activities and employment in the Brčko area.
"With such activities, BBI bank goes one step further into the field of banking and tries to open up new markets and find quality investors for its clients. That is the main aim of today's visit to Brčko district; to see the project potential and to try to connect these projects with potential markets. We are particularly interested in those projects that lead to higher levels of employment.", said Amer Bukvić, CEO of BBI, announcing the Forth International Investment Conference - Sarajevo Business Forum, which will be held on 17th May in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Agriculture and food industry are currently the number one economic activities that Brčko District has to offer to foreign investors to develop business cooperation; however, there is a considerable potential in the development of tourism activities.
"BBI bank and its partners offer is the best that businessmen from Brčko can get at this point", said Sead Slomić, President of Chamber of Commerce of Brčko District during the business meeting in Brčko.
Bank representatives presented current financing lines of the Bank with a particular emphasis on the World Bank and Turkish lines, and BIGMEV and "Mostovi nade" foundations activities which aim to connect the markets of BiH, Turkey and the Middle East. Numerous companies established contacts and started production through BBI VIP Business Club.

BBI AMONG ‘MOST DESIRABLE EMPLOYERS’ |
According to the poll conducted among 6.669 participants from all quarters of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosna Bank International (BBI) has been recognized as one of six most desirable employers in the financial sector.
Besides BBI - the only bank in B&H which operates according to Islamic financial principles - this prestigious recognition has been given to UniCredit bank, Sparkasse, Volksbank, Hypo Alpe Adria and NLB Tuzlanska banka.
The ‘Most Desirable Employer’ recognition award was presented to Amer Bukvic, CEO of BBI by Edin Mehic, director general of ‘Posao.ba’ Job seeking portal. This award was first introduced in 2007 after the first poll had been conducted.
The award scheme is aimed at promoting positive practices of human resource management in B&H by companies. This way companies are given additional incentive to improve employee relations and are motivated to offer better work environment, education and human development for its employees.
At the ceremony organized on the occasion of announcement of the research results, Edin Mehic told the reporters that ‘Posao.ba’ portal ever since its establishment, has been instrumental in facilitating employment of 9,000 workers.
