Alek Bakalović new CEO of Bosna Bank International d.d. Sarajevo

The Supervisory Board of Bosna Bank International d.d. Sarajevo, with the prior consent of the FBiH Banking Agency, has appointed a new Management Board. Mr. Alek Bakalović, a corporate banker with many years of experience, officially took over the position of the Bank's CEO. Bakalović has more than 20 years of work in international financial institutions, where he held managerial positions of executive director and board member in the field of finance and treasury as well as investment and corporate banking.

With the synergy of new and existing forces, knowledge and expertise, we will work together on the quality of services and customer satisfaction. Our goal is to be a reliable financial partner for our clients ", said Alek Bakalović, CEO of BBI Bank.

New member of the Management Board of BBI d.d. Sarajevo is also Ms. Azra Hadžiomeragić, who will lead the retail segment. She has a master's degree in economics with almost two decades of experience in banking, of which more than ten years in key management positions. For the last six years, she has held the position of Retail Sales Director in one of the largest banks in the BiH market. She led the project of transformation and digitalization of the business network through which, for the first time in the BiH market, innovations such as cashless outlets and agile approach to sales were implemented.

The member of the Management Board for Risks and Finance is Emina Šišić, who has a successful banking career working in management positions in several banking institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. She holds an MBA from Griffith College Dublin and Nottingham Trent University London.

Investment banker Nedžad Gušić, as a member of the Management Board, continues to manage the corporate business segment. The Master of Economics in the Banking Sector has been working for more than fifteen years as a member of the Bank's Management Board, Director of the Directorate for Development and Coordination in the Corporate Sector, Head of Investment and Financial Management, and Head of SME. In the selection of the magazine "International Business Magazine", Gusic was chosen as the "Best Corporate and Investment Banker in BiH" in 2021.

Bosna Bank International is the first bank in BiH and the region to operate in accordance with Islamic financial principles. It was founded in 2000, with its headquarters in Sarajevo. The founders of BBI Bank are investment rating banks: Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB). Today, BBI has 37 business units throughout BiH. Bosna Bank International concluded 2021 with assets in the amount of 1.5 billion KM and positioned itself on the 6th  place on the banking market of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Total assets grew by 13% or 177 million KM compared to the end of 2020. Total client financing amounted to KM 891 million, with an annual growth of 7% or KM 56 million, while client deposits amounted to KM 1.2 billion and increased by 23% or KM 225 million.

Since 2010, BBI Bank and its BBI VIP Business Club have been organizing the Sarajevo Business Forum, an international investment conference that has gained a global reputation in ten years and put BiH and the region on the investment map of the world. Sarajevo Business Forum is scheduled for May 11th  and 12th  this year. A large number of businessmen and investors from all over the world are expected to participate in the conference.
