Amer Bukvić, CEO of BBI and Samir Tandir, Director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification in Serbia today have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the BBI headquarter in Sarajevo. This MoU is signed aiming to establish a cooperation for the promotion of  halal industry and to discover new markets for halal-certified companies in the region. This memorandum is one among many activities for the preparation of the 2nd Sarajevo Halal Fair, the international halal-industry, organised by Bosna Bank International that will be held September 26 – 28, 2019.

“The halal market encompasses about 1,6 Billion consumers worldwide. Projections show that the number of halal consumers will increase to approximately 2,2 Billion by 2030, thus making it the fastest growing industry in the world. Our aim is to connect halal – certified companies from the region with international distributers through the Sarajevo Halal Fair. Southeast Europe will become the ‘Golden Gateway’ to the European halal market for large companies coming from the GCC region and Southeast Asia. We want to create a productive environment and  better position in the international halal market for the whole region”, said Mr. Bukvić upon signing the memorandum.

The Agency for Halal Quality Certification in Serbia was established as a specialised institution of the Islamic Community in Serbia. This was a crucial step for companies to become more competitive, get better branding and achieve a more favourable position in the local, regional and global market, while one of the most important reasons was high demand for access to halal-products and services. The halal industry offers healthy and safe products while some of the most important of its activities include education and the promotion of halal certified products and services.

The signing of the memorandum was also attended by Dr. Mevlud Dudić, President of Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia.

SHF 2019 is organised by Bosnia Bank International (BBI), the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) and IsDB Group Business Forum THIQAH and is held under the patronage of Šefik Džaferovic, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
