During the meeting, the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malaysia were particularly good, especially in political terms.

They discussed the improvement of relations in the economic sector, with particular emphasis on the development of the halal industry and investments in health tourism.

Minister Ismail, who led the Malaysian delegation to the Sarajevo Halal Fair, stressed that the Government of Malaysia has placed a special focus on the development of the halal industry. He noted that the Government of Malaysia sees Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of the strategic countries with which it could cooperate in this area.

The mutual interest in investments in the field of health tourism was emphasized, where Bosnia and Herzegovina is seen as a country with great potential.

BiH Presidency Member Džaferović emphasized that there is plenty of room for Malaysian investors in other areas, such as the metal and manufacturing industries, agriculture and infrastructure projects. He also stressed the need to establish a direct air service between Sarajevo and Kuala Lumpur.

Džaferović said he expected that events such as the Sarajevo Halal Fair, held under his auspices, will contribute to connecting businessmen from the two countries.
