SHF 2019 Welcome dinner for guests and high officials

Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka and BBI Bank CEO Amer Bukvić organized a Welcome Dinner for Sarajevo Halal Fair (SHF) 2019 guests and senior guests at the Sarajevo City Hall, opened in Sarajevo on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

"I believe that the halal industry is not only a prospect but also a reality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Especially since the halal business is not closely related to one religion or worldview. Halal is a universal, worldwide accepted standard of business that has found a place in BiH and Sarajevo. Thanks to the organizers, the BBI Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Islamic Community in BiH, all the guests, exhibitors and visitors, Sarajevo is becoming a regional hub for the halal industry and we see an opportunity for economic advancement and employment,” said Abdullah Skaka, Mayor of Sarajevo.

BBI Bank CEO Amer Bukvić thanked Mayor Skaka for the support of SHF 2019. He said he was proud and grateful for the support and presence of large delegations of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bahrain, Indonesia and other countries recognized by businessmen, institutions and organizations Sarajevo Halal Fair as a platform for the development of the halal economy. He thanked the Islamic Development Bank for its continued support.

“Our goal is to position Sarajevo as the centerpiece of industry in Europe. Let's build together a vision of a halal economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe,” Bukvić said.

The guests and senior guests of SHF 2019 attended the world premiere of the inclusive choir Princess - Hummingbirds, who performed the timeless and significant song: "Children are the strongest army" for the occasion. Based on the initiative of the Sarajevo Children's Choir Princess Donuts, the cheerful and important consent of the Colibri children and in cooperation with the Enkidu Educational Center for the first time in the history of the capital of our homeland, children of Sarajevo will create and record an inclusive CD with children's music themes. Children with disabilities from the Colibri Association will sing together with their friends from the Princess Donut Choir and will have public appearances, concerts and trips. It is the first time ever in our country that inclusion is living this strong and in its full glory. The CD entitled "All Our Love" is a story of love, companionship, appreciation, beauty, selflessness, warmth - symbols of our Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SHF 2019 will be held at the Skenderija Center in Sarajevo from September 26 to 28, 2019, and the organizers of the Fair are Bosna Bank International, Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) and IsDB Group Business Forum THIQAH, with the support of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Halal Quality Certification Agency of BiH, and the Association of Halal Industry operating within the FBiH Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This year's Event is held under the auspices of BiH Presidency Member, Šefika Džaferovića.
